Who we are
Marixia Limited operates this website and coordinates Scribner sales enquiries in agreed territories. We are responsible for the personal information we use for our research, correspondence and sales administration. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16982045. Registered office: 19 Kestrel Drive, Ashington, NE63 8JS, United Kingdom.
For privacy questions, requests or to stop marketing, email info@scribner.store or write to our registered office marked “Privacy”.
Information we use and why
We use professional contact details, organisation and role information, application requirements and correspondence to respond to enquiries, identify relevant equipment and coordinate sales discussions. Information comes from you, relevant enquiries referred by Scribner, and public professional sources such as company and institutional websites, scientific publications, conferences and research databases.
We rely on our legitimate interests in relevant business research, responding to enquiries and administering our representative service, balanced against your rights and expectations. Where consent is required for marketing, we obtain it first; public availability of an email address is not consent. We also keep records where required by law, including accounting obligations. Outgoing communications are reviewed by a person; we do not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Sharing with Scribner
We tell Scribner which organisations we have contacted, using only the organisation’s name or website domain. We do not share individual contact details for this purpose. We exclude names or domains that identify an individual from this organisation-only registration.
If you request a quotation, we share the contact details and application information needed for Scribner, in the United States, to prepare it. Scribner handles quotations and orders. Before sharing personal information, we establish the applicable international-transfer arrangement and provide information about it and any safeguards you can obtain. A quotation request does not itself constitute consent to an international transfer. Scribner’s privacy notice explains its own use of information.
Our providers and this website
Microsoft 365 provides our business email and file services. Cloudflare delivers and protects this website, processing technical request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs and timestamps. Providers may process information outside the UK; Microsoft and Cloudflare provide contractual data-transfer safeguards in their data-processing terms. These are separate from any sharing with Scribner. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your information.
The site has no enquiry form, visitor analytics or advertising pixels. Fonts and images are served with the site. Security features may use essential cookies where needed; we do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Email links open your email application. Linked websites have their own privacy notices.
How long we keep information
We keep unsuccessful enquiries and quotations for up to two years after our last contact, unless a legal obligation or unresolved claim requires longer. We review professional research records at least every 24 months and remove information that is obsolete or no longer relevant. Minimal opt-out records are kept to respect your objection to marketing.
Financial records are normally kept for six years after the relevant financial year, and relevant contract records for six years after termination. Technical hosting and security records are kept according to the provider’s operational, security and legal requirements. These periods do not justify retaining unrelated correspondence.
Your choices and rights
You can object to direct marketing at any time, including by replying with “unsubscribe” in your subject line. Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We will update this notice when our processing changes and provide relevant information before using your details for a new purpose.
